My Story

I joined a Bubble Run with some friends. I spent more time playing with bubbles than the actual run. That was my preference.

My Inclusive Design Journey

I am a passionate designer with a little over 7 years of experience, and my journey has taken me from the gaming industry to LinkedIn, where I discovered the power of inclusive design. In 2019 at LinkedIn, a few designers and I tested the app in a larger font size and through voice-over. I was shocked at how unusable the app was. These were settings I knew many people used, such as my mom and her friends. I briefly checked other apps as well and found the same issues. Realizing that these issues needed to be addressed, I joined LinkedIn’s newly formed inclusive design team while still working on My Network (See cover letter for more).

One of the ways I like to give back to my community is by hosting dinners. Lately I’ve been on a pasta making craze. The photos above is me attempting to make a raviolo al uovo.

I had to try making fried chicken.

Building Community

Outside of work, I am actively involved with my church community. I enjoy hosting dinners and mentoring college and high school students. In the summer of 2020, I had a clear calling to go to Bible school and give my time to care for the community that has cared for me. It was not easy to leave my job, as I loved working as a UX designer. I realized after much consideration that there would never be the perfect time to do this. After a year and a half of bible school, I then decided to serve as a campus minister at my church community. 2 and half years later I’m incredibly thankful for these experiences. Becoming more equipped to serve my community and being able to give back has been extremely rewarding.
